The Rose Committee and Rose Gardeners Under the direction of Kathleen Nielsen, the Rose Committee infused new life into the rose garden at Hilo Medical Center in 2008. Fighting insects, weeds and dead plants, Zontians returned a spot of beauty for patients and visitors at the hospital. Besides rose bushes, there are also vireya in the garden.
